Nina, Serafina & Selina

Kids who understand the digital world know how to use it — without getting lost in it.

Detective stories that get our kids ready for the future: a children’s book series about artificial intelligence, social media, fakes, and their own data. Full of humor, never preachy, and told so that kids figure out for themselves how it all works. For example, that an AI is a guessing machine: it learned patterns from tons of examples and uses them to guess — often right, sometimes wrong. Dreamed up by a dad and his nine-year-old daughter, edited by Mom — who also brings ideas for new books. Written with AI as a tool — and every line checked by us.

About us

Why these books exist

Family drawing: Kuki writing at the kitchen table with Dad and Mom.

It all started at the kitchen table.

I work with artificial intelligence every single day, professionally, and have for years. And still, one question caught me completely off guard: “Dad, does the AI actually know everything?” It came from my daughter. She was nine. And she was already using these tools, just like almost every kid in her class.

We went looking for books that would explain it to her. What we found were books for grown-ups, warning pamphlets, and a lot of lecturing. Nothing that took kids seriously. So we decided to write them ourselves. Together.

Kuki (that’s what we call her here; her real name stays in the family) invented the three detectives. She reads every story before anyone else, and whatever she finds boring, illogical, or “so embarrassing” gets cut. No chapter is finished until Kuki gives it her okay. And before anything lands on these pages, Tina-Maria Siller, Kuki’s mom, reads every word.

These books aren’t here to scare anyone. Kids who understand how the digital world works don’t get fooled so easily.

And in case you’ve been wondering: yes, a little bit of AI helped with the writing. It would be pretty strange to make books about the guessing machine without ever using it. But it was exactly what it is in every one of these books: a tool. The ideas, the detectives, every decision, and the final word: those are ours. Because that’s what every book in this series says: you’re the boss.

What we stand for

Three rules we never bend

Every story ends with something kids can do

Dangers do show up — leaving them out would be dishonest. But every story ends with kids knowing what they can do. None ends on a scary note.

Simplified, yes. Wrong, never.

What the books say about AI, the internet and data has to be true. Every figure on the parents’ pages is sourced, or it goes.

A child has a vote

Kuki is nine and she has a veto. What she finds boring does not make the book. That’s why the books never sound like grown-ups talking down to kids.
